Rodeo Grill

Gidiyup Coyboy! I've always heard from my friends that the food in Rodeo Grill is really good and that we should actually give it a try but at first look with the exterior of the place, let's just say that I was not entirely convinced because from the outside, it looks really empty like a ghost town of some sort but then since we were actually near the area, we ate their with my friend. bom pum pum pum!

The whole place looks very simple, they have wooden chairs and tables and the flooring isn't that fancy either but the good thing about the place was that despite the economical atmosphere, the food was really good and very affordable. I think they just wanted to keep things simple so that they wouldn't have to charge the customers with a high price you know. Probably their way of saving for their guests.

I ordered their Pork Steak @ Php 179 and my girlfriend ordered their lechon at Php 149.

I really enjoyed it there because they had UNLIMITED RICE! I'm a rice kind of gal and the pork was really juicy and flavorful. It was really good. You really shouldn't judge a book by its cover or a restaurant by its exterior.

I've found that very thing.

My childhood was not a very happy place to be in. I suffered from verbal and physical abuse from someone who let's say did not accomplish his roles properly as a role model. Good thing I've found the perfect escape - books! I would wallow myself with reading books in the library during spare times and it was the happiest place on earth for me. Sometimes I also escape through the movies and tv shows back then (good thing we had cable) My favorite shows were Lizzie McGuire, Rugrats, Little Lulu Show, Powerpuff girls, HBO movies like Beethoven, Harry Potter and others which I've forgotten the titles but the pictures are still etched deep down in my memory. I really loved girly movies back then like Hot Chick, Mean Girls, White Chicks, anything with girly themes on it - it was my cup of tea. My greatest escape from sad and boring childhood which left a lasting impact on my life that I would carry for the years to come with matching excitement for the great blue yonder and it's endless possibilities.

Graduating from college doesn't mean that it's over. It's just the beginning. Brace yourself for crazy roller coaster rides are up ahead.

"I don't love studying, I hate studying! I like learning, Learning is beautiful." -Natalie Portman

I remember during the summer of my sophomore years when I prayed for the gift of friendship, laughter, love and joy. Guess what. These are the answers to my prayers! Prayer truly is powerful.

I’ve found that very thing that takes me to a happy place – it was art and to others it could be writing, video games, music. Whatever it is finding that special thing will help you move forward. Just like a lotus flower finding sunlight under muddy waters. When all odds are against it, it will still rise up to – bloom. We all have a story to tell and we are all part of something beautiful. To the world, you may be one person but to one person you may be the world. Every great thing begins with a dreamer and every dreamer has a story so don’t settle for a happy ending because to be continued is way more fun. – excerpts from Michelle Phan

Things are different now, my life today bears no semblance of my life back then. Let's just say that I don't need to escape anymore because life just got better when I met my God. He made my life brand new and changed me inside-out. Though there are troubles and the turmoil and labor of life gets to me sometimes and just find myself weeping because of weariness. Then He always comes to my rescue when things gets too tough for me. He rescues me, and arrives just in time to comfort me when I'm left hanging and when I need rest. Flying solo into the face of trouble is not a good idea. When we're facing pressure, mistreatment, hardship or grief. Jesus offers a better way out. He invites us to flee to Him.

He said. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.. and you fill find rest for your soul." Matthew 11-28-29.

Escape cannot give us rest but Jesus can.

How to get your NBI Clearance in Cebu City

Getting your NBI clearance is very easy when you've mastered it. You don't have to endure waiting for hours when you know the techniques. Allow me share it to you. I've already taken my NBI clearance 3 times already and it was not an easy feat at first but for the purpose of helping others and making the world a better place. Allow me to share some insights. This is for the lazy bums only!

Remember:

  • Bring ID any of the following: (school ID, police clearance, SSS, driver's license, passport, voter's id
  • They accommodate 400 people per day ONLY.
  • They are open from TUE-SAT 10am-5pm
  • Priority numbers from 1-149 will be accommodated in the morning.
  • Priority numbers from 150 + will be accommodated starting 1pm.

For getting your NBI clearance at JCentre Mall.

1st Step: Call NBI center JCentre Mall the day before to double check if they're online (what happened to me was that I got there on a bad timing since they were offline because their system was down so I had to return another day)

2nd Step: Once confirming that their system is working, you can go there at around 9am to get your priority number. You need this priority number! This is very important. After that, get the forms from the guard and then you can leave to avoid waiting for hours and then return at around 3pm. Most likely your priority number is already around 200+ up so you're most likely to return in the afternoon anyway. For my part, I arrived there at aroung 7:30 am and my priority was

Another person arrived there at around 9:30 am and he was still able to get a priority number of about 290. I was so taken aback because I had to get there quite early you know and I didn't know that we can actually go there at a later time.

You can get the form from the security guard over there which I encircled. This part right here is located at the back part of JCentre Mall.

3rd Step: Return at around 3pm where only a few people remained. That's the time you pay at the counter, hand them your priority number and filled-out form then have your picture taken and have your fingerprints registered for their bio metric. If your name won't get hit, you can get it after 10 minutes. But if you get "hit" you have to return after 2 weeks but you have to call them first before returning to follow up with the processing.

Another tip from my friend, I'm not sure if there's any truth to it though:

If you're far away from JCenter Mall and want to get it at the Capitol site, you can. My friend told me that you don't need a priority number, just go there at around 4pm and it will be processed in less than 30minutes. Not sure about this though, Imma have to give it a try soon.. Good Luck to us

The Loft

What we have here is a throwback post when we had a party at The Loft, IT Park Cebu. It was my second time around in the area and it was newly-renovated at that time. The lighting and the space was much better and I just love to sink into their puffy pillows and cushions. It's so cozy and cool since the air-condition was blowing at full blast. Their food was so good too, we got to try their bacon rolls and it was so goooood. I got tipsy with their booze though since I finished about 4 bottles of beer and one friend of mine got super wasted that she actually threw up in the floor. We immediately left the scene of the crime afraid of embarrassment. Eventually I got my friend home safe and sound and went ahead to go home after. Twas' a good evening of dancing and enjoyment. Cheers to good memories!

Buddies

 The Buddies Menu.

I've always loved Mexican inspired food because it has lots of cheese, meat and yummy sauce. I just could not get enough of it. Buddies diner also offer these yummy treats for your tummies. Judging from the pictures, it's quite delicious and it's more delicious when you actually taste it. That goes without saying really.

I just spotted a cutie who won their 5-minute burger challenge where you finish a gigantic burger within 5 minutes and it's yours for free and a t-shirt goes along with the freebie. But if you don't get to finish it within the specified time, well get ready with P350 then. :) Are you for the challenge?

Cafe Noriter- that quirky cafe ...

There's this new cafe in Cebu just across Elizabeth Hotel and a walking distance from Ayala Center Cebu. It's so quirky and unconventional. They have a playground-theme in the whole atmosphere which makes it even more inviting. Apparently, the place was packed when we got there and we had to be in the waiting list. Goodness, we were the 5th group to go in. Most customers are teens and young adults who are so curious about the whole place and with it's cute and lively ambiance.

Barbs and I spent hours in the cafe just chatting away and working on some personal projects. It's been months since I actually went out considering I've been so busy with work. This is just what I need to get things in perspective. Good thing I'm at loose end right now.

Instead of the boring tables and chairs, they designed the whole place like a terrace cafe where you can climb up a small staircase to the top part of the cozy cafe. The perfect place to spend the whole afternoon, me and my friend both thought.

They even had cute sticky notes plastered up the walls and ceilings.

If you happen to stop by the place, try their best-selling Java Chip Frappe with it's creamy whip cream and cookie too.

Teddy bear loves the Java Chip Frappe eh?

Rosevie, feeling all comfy and at home.. hahah
